It has already been written before about the m/v “Contaz Trader” that was placed in Azov shipyard for conducting regular repair on class of the Register of shipping. The crew of the vessel is lead by O.I.Makeev; under his accurate control repair works were carried out. Oleg Igorevich told about works which have already been fulfilled.

 - Planned works are already coming to their completion. At present day a huge content of welding works have been carried out, eighty tons of metal have been replaced in the holds of the vessel. Ship repairers repaired hatch covers, and they are special – of pontoon type, without hydraulics and machinery, taken away by shore crane and let down on the berth. Quite a large content of works was carried out connected with power plant or, generally speaking, with its main engine – the heart of the vessel. In engine room there was conducted repair and replacement of practically all the machinery. After all repair works each mechanism was tested. For example, deck structures, where welding was carried out, tanks were checked on watertightness, fuel and ballast impermeability. The hull of the vessel was cleaned and painted, the hold deck was replaced.

 - I know that yesterday sea trials of “Contaz Trader” were conducted.

After control testing of engines, machinery and equipment the vessel put out to the sea. Mooring tests were carried out normally. The whole day the vessel was maneuvering in the sea, we made everything possible to load up the engine to the maximum. There were representatives of shipping company “Commercial Fleet of Donbass”, Russian maritime register of shipping, Azov shipyard and Bryanskij machine building plant on board; the latter provided the vessel with the parts for the main engine. The program is completely accomplished, there are no remarks, the staff showed high professional skills. I think that the vessel is in excellent technical condition and is ready to fulfill the voyage. 

 - How often did the crew changed during the repair?

 - I can’t answer this question unambiguously. During the time of the repair all the crew was changed. In a few days I’m going to be replaced by the colleague Vladimir Adamchuck. The new crew is already formed, its quantity is 25 person.
