Practically beginning with the first days of its foundation shipping company “Commercial Fleet of Donbass” has taken active, efficient part in the program of economic and social development of Mariupol. The administration of the company and its founders realize that today it is not enough to pay only taxes in order for qualitative changes to take place in the appearance of the city, in life of the citizens of Mariupol.

Year 2008 has not become an exception. Shipping company “Commercial Fleet of Donbass” is already reckoning up the results in providing charitable support to funds and unprofitable organizations.

Thus, to the schools of Primorskij region it was allocated almost forty thousand hrivnas for conducting current repairs. It means that children came to light, comfortable, repaired classrooms.

To the veterans of the merchant navy it was provided support in amount 17,4 thousand hryvnas; on 13 thousand hrivnas enlarged budget of the city palace of culture “Chaika”. To the public organizations and executive authorities it was transferred 27,8 thousand hrivnas.

Administration of “CFD” paid special attention to providing financial assistance to the municipal institution “Mariupol city hospital No 9”. As the Head Physician Vitalij Anokhin said, the thing that makes CFD for the hospital has a huge significance. City budget provides us partially with medicaments, gives money for the nutrition of patients. Purchase of new equipment, current and major repairs – all these for the last five years makes “CFD”. This year to the city hospital No 9 it was provided 226 thousand hrivnas.  

As chief accountant of “Commercial Fleet of Donbass” Elena Avksentjeva said, the support of unprofitable organizations – is not the only expense, directed on charity. This year a significant sum was provided on the municipal improvements: an area in front of the entrance to “CFD” is reconstructing, an alley is fit out.

The financing of publication of the newspaper “Azov seafarer” is continued. As the main circulation is distributed among the veterans of the fleet, expenses on its publication in 2008 amounted 114, 5 thousand hrivnas.
