In the end of October of this year by the external auditors of Russian Maritime Register of shipping in accordance with the demands of Chapter IX of International Convention SOLAS-74, International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention it was conducted annual verification of the Safety Management System of the shipping company “Commercial Fleet of Donbass”.

In particular, the following subdivisions of the company were checked: Safety of Navigation Department, Technical Fleet Operation Department, Operational-Freight Department, Commercial Department, Protection of Labour Service, “UkrAzovCrewing”, the work of the response team in contingency, conduct of documentation, normative-legal securing of the company, maintenance of vessels and their duly operation, preparing by the crew in accordance with international conventions and standards, related to the safety on the sea and pollution prevention.

The departments of the company conducted preliminary preparation for the verification. Then it was conducted internal audit of the company, deficiencies, revealed as a result of the internal audit, were removed, and only after this the company was considered to be ready for presentation to external auditors of RMRS.

Special attention was paid to the technical maintenance and supply of the vessels, the decision of questions, which were presented by State port control during the verification of the vessels of the company, recruitment of the crews of the vessels in accordance with the demands of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers.

As a result of the verification it was determined that Safety Management System of the company is audited and agrees with the demands of International Management Code for the Safe operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention according to the following types of the vessels:

 - bulk carrier;

 - other cargo ship;

 - oil tanker.

The document about correspondence of the company with the demands of ISM Code is given for the term of 5 years with its annual confirmation.
