For the every single seaman the vessel is both home and the place of work, where, as a rule, happens both good and undesirable things.

Not so long ago on the vessel “Katya Zelenko”, belonging to the shipping company “Commercial Fleet of Donbass”, fell seriously ill 29-year old seaman, inhabitant of Mariupol, Mark Sizorov. Practically few days before the sickness he changed his colleague and took up the duties.

Preliminary medical checkup showed that the seaman is in good health, seaworthy. The fit happened to the young man in the very center of the Indian ocean. Dry cargo ship was in 250 miles from the Kenyan port Mombasa that could be reached not earlier than  in 48 hours. Captain Novozhilov was told about the poor feeling of the member of the crew. A seamen on board of the vessel, having finished medical college (medical attendant), doubted whether the cure on board can be successful. It was evident that the seaman needed urgent competent help in stationary conditions. Master got in touch with the administration of “Commercial Fleet of Donbass”. Vitalij Ventichuck, operational engineer of “CFD Shipping”, arranged all the formalities on the shore.

Master Novozhilov gave a distress signal to the vessels, staying not far away. The most active help in saving of our seaman made British war seamen. On the early morning of the 4-th November the helicopter of English warship “HMS Notherben land” took the seaman from the “Katya Zelenko” to the airport of Mombasa. Then, accompanied by the agents, he was delivered to the clinic.

In the waiting room of the clinic it was told that the seaman had an exacerbation of the ulcer of duodenum. Meditians provided him with the necessary help. Last Wednesday, accompanied by the Kenyan doctor, the seaman returned home. He was met with the ambulance car of the clinic “Medicom”.
